Очень странное путешествие

Однажды мне присниля сон, что я сам летел в Бразилию на самолёте, а когда прибыл, поехал в отель, возле которого меня ждал вертолёт. Я сел в него и полетел на поле по мини-футболу, а там было нашествие кроликов-мутантов – у них были длинные, черные зубы, а если они тебя укусят, ты умрёшь. Потом один кролик меня укусил, и в этот момент я проснулся.

–Hi Victoria! In what way are your dreams related to your drawings?
I have never used my dreams as direct inspiration for my drawings, but I think they are similar in their surrealism and their combination of strange images.

-How did you start drawing?
I started drawing as a kid. I drew princesses, different characters from cartoons, animals. I just loved spending my time this way. 

–Do you have any recurrent dreams? Or certain situations or scenaries that you frequently dream?
Yes, it seems that I often have the same dreams. But I’m not sure if it’s really so or just a déjà vu. I do often dream about the same airport. Or events that take place in my old family house where I grew up, although I haven’t lived there for a long time.

–Is there a certain place or mood that stimulate your capacity of dreaming?
I do have dreams almost every night. They become more odd when I’m ill or if it’s too hot outside. Also if I’m sleeping at a new place.

–Do you remember a dream that you had as a child?
I can’t remember any specific one, but when I was little I often dreamt that I was falling from somewhere. I was doing it on purpose, to find out what would happen in the end. I either woke up or hung above the ground. I also often dreamt that I was flying, but not as a bird would, rather like a light feather hovering above the ground.

–Have you ever used any of your dreams in a practical way? Or have you been influenced or decided something because of a dream?
Sometimes the answers to my questions pop up in my head while dreaming, it can literally be a solution to some situations. If I can’t look at a problem from a different angle in real life, an unexpected solution can come to me in a dream. I have repeatedly done exactly as I dreamt.

–Please tell a recent dream of your own.
I have had a dream that seemed like an action movie. There were two characters — a man and a woman. They both flew with those cars which we usually imagine when talking about the future. There was a shooting, the girl got sick and she flew back to their headquarter’s shelter, but the shelter was already occupied by the military. All women were held in the same room, no one tried to escape. That girl, as if she already became me, sneaked out through the back door and no one noticed her/me. An incredibly beautiful view of the city opened up in front. It felt like Paris, lit with lights. I saw that there was a mesmerizing fairytale-like funicular, but it looked like it was for children only. I went up there, wanted to take a ride, but was afraid that I would not be allowed in because of my age.

-¡Hola Victoria! ¿En qué se parecen tus dibujos a tus sueños?

Nunca he usado mis sueños como inspiración directa de mis dibujos, pero se parecen en la extraña combinación de imágenes y en su tono surrealista.

-¿Cómo empezaste a dibujar?

Empecé desde niña. Dibujaba princesas, distintos personajes de cartoons, animales. Me encantaba pasar el tiempo dibujando.

-¿Tienes sueños recurrentes? ¿O situaciones y escenarios que sueñes con frecuencia?

Sí, parece que siempre tengo los mismo sueños. Pero no estoy segura si son los mismos sueños o un déjà vu. A menudo sueño con un mismo aeropuerto. O con eventos que ocurren en la vieja casa familiar donde crecí y de la que me mudé hace mucho tiempo.

-¿Algún lugar o estado de ánimo que estimule tu capacidad de soñar?

Sueño cada noche, y las historias se vuelven más extrañas cuando estoy enferma o cuando hace mucho calor afuera. También cuando duermo en un nuevo lugar.

-¿Recuerdas algún sueño que tuviste de pequeña?

Ninguno concreto, pero cuando era niña frecuentemente soñaba que me caía de algún sitio. Me caía a propósito para averiguar qué pasaría: unas veces me despertaba y otras me quedaba colgada por encima del suelo. A menudo también soñaba que volaba pero no como un pájaro, sino como una pluma que planea suavemente sobre el suelo.

-¿Alguna vez has usado en la “vida real” alguno de tus sueños, o te has inspirado en algo que soñaste para tomar una decisión?

Algunas veces las respuestas a mis preguntas aparecen en sueños, dándome -literalmente- la solución a ciertas situaciones. Si en la vida real tengo algún problema que no puedo analizar desde una óptica distinta, el sueño me ofrece una solución inesperada. Muchas veces he hecho exactamente lo que el sueño me propone.

-Cuéntame un sueño reciente.

Tuve un sueño que parecía una película de acción. Había dos personajes, un hombre y una mujer. Ambos volaban en coches futuristas. Hubo disparos, la mujer enfermó y regresó a su cuartel, pero el refugio ya estaba ocupado por militares. Todas las mujeres estaban retenidas en la misma habitación, ninguna intentaba escapar. La mujer, que en ese momento era yo, se escabulló por la puerta trasera sin que nadie se diera cuenta. Una vista increíblemente bella de la ciudad se abrió frente a mí. Se sentía como París, iluminada con luces. Vi un funicular fascinante, como de cuento de hadas, pero parecía exclusivo para niños. Subí, quería dar un paseo, pero temía que no me dejaran debido a mi edad.
